Elisabeth "Betty" Thomas Stuart MARLBORO Elisabeth "Betty" Thomas Stuart, 93, of Monroe Township, N.J. and Marlboro, Vt. passed away Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the University Medical Center at Princeton. Born in New Brunswick, N.J. Betty lived in the Rossmoor Community of Monroe Twp., N.J. for the past 25 years.She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the Rutgers University in 1938, and the Katharine Gibbs School in 1939. Following a career with Egmont Arens, a Manhattan Packaging Design Firm, Betty married Whitney Andrews Stuart and settled down in Piscataway, N.J. to raise her family.Betty owned an antiques business for many years collecting and selling antiques in Vt. and N.J. She was a longstanding member of the Rossmoor Community Church, the Study Club of New Brunswick, and the Historical Society of Early American Decoration. Betty maintained a home in Marlboro, Vt. where she spent her summers enjoying the peace, beauty, and friendship of neighbors. Predeceased by her parents, Roland V. and Elizabeth Bacon Thomas and her husband, Whitney Andrews Stuart; she is survived by three loving sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Gloria Stuart, Whitney (Skip) and Joan Stuart, and Jay and Deborah Stuart; three grandchildren, Vincent, Jessica and Ryan Stuart, and one great-grandchild.FUNERAL NOTICE: A burial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 10th at Kings Cemetery in Marlboro, Vt. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution to the Monroe Township Rescue Squad, 2 Municipal Plaza, Monroe Township, NJ 08831, or the Marlboro Meeting House, Marlboro, VT 05344, would be appreciated.
