Elisabeth Jean "Betsey" McKee, 58, of East Sacramento, California, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento. Born in Troy, New York, on July 5, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Attorney Archie C. and Elizabeth Elder McKee of Amsterdam and Scotia, New York. Betsey received her education in the Amsterdam school system and was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School, class of 1968. She subsequently attended Ellis Hospital Nursing Program and Christian Science Benevolent Nursing Program at Chestnut Hill in Boston. Betsey moved to California in 1970, where she resided until her death. Two brothers, Peter R. McKee of Schenectady, New York and Richard A. McKee of Rotterdam, Junction, New York; and cousins survive Betsey. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service, which will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 12:30 at the Riley Mortuary, Inc., 110 Division Street, Amsterdam, New York 12010. Inurnment will be at Van Vechten Cemetery, Pattersonville, New York, at a later date.
