Eleanor (Hippler) Wilson, 87, a resident of Weymouth and Cape Cod for many years, died Feb. 9, 2010, at Shell Point Village in Ft. Myers, Fla. Born and raised in Braintree, she had been a resident of Shell Point Village in Ft. Myers, Fla., for the past 11 years. She was a graduate of Bridgewater State College, a member of Kappa Delta Pi, a dedicated school teacher and a longtime and active member of the First Church in Weymouth, and later, the Dennis Union Church. Eleanor loved to crewel and was an avid reader. She is survived by her husband, Elwood; her daughter, Susan (Wilson) DeLuca of Plympton; her son, Kenneth D. of Moultonborough, N.H.; five grandchildren, Scott Newell of Aldie, Va., Melissa (Newell) Nix of Plympton, Kimberlie (Wilson) Mohan of North Sandwich, N.H., Brad Wilson of New York, N.Y., Rob Wilson of Greenwich, Conn.; and eight great-grandchildren. A private memorial service will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery, in Bourne, at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to the Rehabilitation Building Fund, the Legacy Foundation at Shell Point, 15010 Shell Point Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33908.
