Williams, Eleanor ITHACA, N.Y. Eleanor Williams, formerly of Ghent, N.Y., 100 years plus three months of age, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the home of her daughter Patricia Howell in Ithaca, N.Y. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. March 4, 1909, the oldest daughter of Gustav and Marie Willker Schlegel. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Williams; also, three brothers, Gustav Schlegel, Henry Schlegel, Julius "Skeeter" Schlegel; four sisters, Josephine Bohley, Anne Sabatino, Marie Kowalsky and Margaret Van Alstyne. Surviving are her three children, Robert M. Batten and wife Patricia of Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, Barbara Fecteau of Philmont, N.Y. and Patricia Alessi Howell and husband Roger of Ithaca, N.Y.; two grandsons; five granddaughters; five great-grandsons; three great-grand-daughters; one great-great granddaughter; her sister, Lillian "Lil" Spickerman; sister-in-law Ruth Schlegel; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
