White, Eleanor COHOES Eleanor White, 87, died November 9, 2011. Born in Cohoes and a life long resident she was daughter of the late Martin and Edith Sault Halacy. She had resided with her son Roger until August of this year when she moved to Van-Renssela er Manor receiving hospice and comfort care. Wife of David White. She had been employed at United Taxi in Cohoes for 15 years Flatleys Laundry for eight years and retired from Standard Mfg. of Lansingburg. In her younger years Eleanor enjoyed playing bingo and was always spending time crocheting. She loved having cook outs in her yard and having family over for Sunday dinners and was fond of playing cards with family and friends. She will be dearly missed by many. Survivors in addition to her husband include her children, George (Dawn) Gamache, Robert (Margaret) Gamache, Roger (Colleen) Gamache, Darlene (Scott) Mould and the late Earl Raymond (Ray) Gamache, Eleanor Charlene (Char) White and Edith White. Also predeceased by grandsons, Steven White and Kyle White and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Jean (Noble) Gamache. Also survived by 18 grandchildren 32 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Marra Funeral Home. Interment will be on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at noon in Waterford Rural Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at VanRensselaer Manor and Hospice for the wonderful care given to Eleanor in her time of need. In lieu of flowers donations in Eleanor's memory may be made to Van Rensselaer Manor.
