HINSDALE, N.H. -- The celebration of the life of Eleanor R. (Stearns) Smith, 90, of School Street in Hinsdale, who died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, was held Monday afternoon at the First Congregational Church of Hinsdale.The Rev. Mike McCosker, pastor of the North Hinsdale Community Church, officiated. Music was under the direction of Sandra Harris.Testimonials to Mrs. Smith's life were shared by daughter-in-law, Sharron Smith; her son, Edwin O. “Smokey” Smith; and grandnephew Robert LaChance. The memorial address was given by the Rev. McCosker.Burial will be in the spring in Pine Grove Cemetery in Hinsdale.Serving as bearers were John Smith, Larry LaChance, Clifford Stearns, Dwight Smith, Robert Smith, and Randy Latham.Among the many relatives and friends in attendance were delegations representing Wantastiquet Grange #133, Hinsdale Historical Society, Clark-Mortenson Insurance Agency, Hinsdale town officials and River Valley Real Estate Agency.MAX E.
