Foley, Eleanor M. TROY Eleanor M. Anthony Foley of North Greenbush, died Monday, November 6, 2006 at St. Mary's Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary Angelo Anthony, and the widow of Federal Court Judge James T. Foley. Mrs. Foley was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and attended New York State Teacher's College. Eleanor worked as a legal secretary for Judge Murray and Judge Hamm and was the consummate volunteer and provider. As a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Troy, she was extremely involved in a variety of capacities for over 20 years. She managed the food pantry and wrote the applications for government funded food programs. She started the thrift store and was heavily involved with the weekly soup kitchen and the annual fund raisers. She managed the Thanksgiving Day Food Basket program and the Christmas Toy Drive. She also served as a Eucharist minister and lector. In addition to her work at St. Mary's, she volunteered at the polls on election day and for the last several years, she volunteered at the book store at the Troy Public Library. Ultimately, she always put the care and welfare of others, even strangers, before herself. She was the loving mother of Mary Jude Foley (Giuseppe) of North Greenbush; four sisters, Geri Anthony of Troy, Barbara (William) Anslow of Guilderland, Patricia Connally of Troy and Roselaine Keefe of Troy; one brother, Dr. Donald Anthony of Loudonville. She was the sister of the late Nicholas Anthony, Louis Anthony, Felicia Davis and Mary Theresa Anthony. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Troy. Calling hours will be held on Friday, 4-8 p.m. at St. Mary's Church, 196 Third Street, Troy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Albany, NY 12211 or to the Regional Food Bank, 965 Albany Shaker Road, Latham, NY 12206. Arrangements are under the direction of the John H. Clinton Funeral Home, Washington Park and Third Street, Troy.
