Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Sardis Baptist Church for Eleanor Faye Pruett Johnson, 88, Sardis City, who went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, Dec. 29, 2014. The Rev. Mike Goforth, the Rev. Max Roden and Jason Gilbreath will be officiating. Burial will be in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery with Etowah Memorial Chapel directing. She was a native of Gadsden and a resident of Etowah County most of her life. She was a member of Sardis Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Bible school, the G.A.s and sang in the choir during her active years. She sang in the Mountain Valley Singers for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.She is survived by her sons, Dale (Donna) Johnson, Lane Johnson; daughter, Nina (Kenny) Gilbreath; grandchildren, Jason (Rachel) Gilbreath, Dr. Evan (Amanda) Johnson, Blake Gilbreath, Carrie (Wade) Handley, Laura (Jason) Holland and Anna (Seth) Noojin; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Johnson; parents, Edward Ray and Ollie Elizabeth Pruett; brothers, Russell and Bernie Pruett; sisters, Hazel Woodall and Virginia James; and nephew, James Pruett.Pallbearers will be Jason Gilbreath, Dr. Evan Johnson, Blake Gilbreath, Jason Holland, Wade Handley and Seth Noojin.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sardis Baptist Church Building Fund.The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to the service.
