<!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Dec. 12, 1968 - Jul. 1, 2014 A Time To Be Born: Elder Kenneth Dewayne Davis, a resident of Mobile, Alabama, was born to the union Mrs. Johnnie Mae Johnson and Mr. Gus Blanks, December 12, 1968. He grew up in the Toulminville area and graduated from John L. LeFlore High School in 1987. He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Gus Blanks, special aunt, Savannah Whitlock (MaDear); sister, Sharon Timmons, two brothers, Dominique Davis and James Timmons and godfather, Glenn (Rudy) Johnson. A Time To Grow: Elder Davis began his Christian journey in 1992 under the leadership of Rev. R. C. Young at Amity Missionary Baptist Church and later transitioned to the Greater Showers of Blessings C.O.G.I.C. and served faithfully under the tutelage of Prophet Charles Buchanan. He made a commitment to change his lifestyle and serve the Lord. A Time To Serve: Elder Davis served in many capacities. He exemplified Ecclesiastes 9:10 with fervor. "Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest." He served as Chaplain at Mobile Metro Jail, at Greater Showers of Blessings as: Ruling Elder, Administrator, President of the Department of Evangelism, President of Brotherhood, Parking Lot Attendant, Security Guard, Driver, Prayer Warrior, PCL Spokesperson, Radio Announcer, Pulpit Conductor, Traveling Evangelist, Adjutant, Sunday School Teacher, Prophet, Fed the Hungry, Visited the Sick, Clothed the Naked, and other tasks too numerous to mention. A Time To Die: Elder Davis was called to eternal rest on July 1, 2014 at U.A.B. Hospital, surrounded by family and friends. Those Remembering: He leaves to cherish his memories, two sons, Kenneth D. Davis and Kenneth Jackson, both of Mobile, AL; mother, Johnnie Mae Johnson, Mobile, AL; devoted fiance, Tracy D. Jones, Mobile, AL; brothers, Michael (Yolanda), Reginald (Erica), Mobile, AL; sisters, Carolyn Timmons, Mobile, AL; Samantha Saine, Nashville, TN; Vanessa Brewster, Meridian, MS.; Felicia Williams, Memphis, TN; honorary mother, Arthalie Jones, Mobile, AL.; other devoted children, Yemallia Williams, Octavia Jones, Dominique Jones, all of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Zion Davis, Joshua Jones, Jordyn Grant, Jeremiah Mayhane; godmothers, Regenia D. Johnson and Chandra LeDoux; godchildren, Ashley Bailey, Brittney Hines, Kayla Johnson, Reverend Patrick Crumidy; devoted nephew, Tiquez Timmons; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and friends, special friend and co-worker, Mother Jacqueline K. His remains will lie in state on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 2pm until 9pm at Greater Showers of Blessings C.O.G.I.C. 705 Telegraph Road, Prichard, AL. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014 from 9am until the 9:30am funeral services at Nazaree Full Gospel Church, 1695 West I-65 Service Road North, Mobile, AL.
