TAYLOR Elbert Lee “Pete” Taylor Jr. “Poppi”, 74, went home to be with his Lord and Savior August 26, 2007. Pete was born in Jacksonville, Florida and retired from Asbestos Local Union # 13 with over 50 years of service. He loved retirement and was an avid golfer and a great neighbor to all. Pete was the beloved husband of 57 years to Mary Dixon Taylor, devoted father of Janet (Charles) Fox and Tina (James) Luxton. And father figure to brother-in-law, Butch. (Marion Thomas Barsh). He was the adored “Poppi” to grandchildren Jonathan (Audrey) Fox, Christina (Wally) Jones, Kasi (Matt) Kelly and James Luxton; Great grandchildren; Jasmine, Aric, Leah, Samuel, and one due in March. Brother to James Taylor, Helen (Johnny) Reynolds, Norman “Chudy” Taylor, Mary Lee (Bill) Williams and Robert Taylor, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. He especially loved his “brothers” from Local # 13 and constantly kept them entertained. Preceded in death were his parents, E. L. Taylor, Sr. and Thelma Ruth Marsh Taylor; Brothers, Roger Marsh and Howard Marsh. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday August 28 at Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am on Wednesday August 29 at Corey-Kerlin with the family receiving friends Ú hour prior to the start of the service.
