Elaine A. Jackson, 67, of Syracuse passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday. Elaine was born in Auburn and was the daughter of the late Michael and Ruth Nanowisky. She graduated from Port Bryon High School in 1965 and retired from University Hospital, following 38 years of service. She was a communicant of St. Daniel Church. Her husband and soul mate, John predeceased her in 1982. Survivors include her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Carl Castiglione; her best friends - her grandchildren, Robert and Olivia; her sister, Marlene Young; nephew, Freddie Young; and her husband John's family. Calling hours will be Monday 5 to 7 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 12:10 p.m. in St. Daniel Church.
