WALKER, Eileen M.(nee Freeland)1913 - 2015Eileen Walker died peacefully in Ottawa on October 24, 2015 after 102 years of life that always had a sun in the corner no matter the storm. Daughter of Mella (nee Ross) and Edward Freeland, she was born on the homestead farm near Foresters Falls. She was the loving mother of two daughters, Dianne (Terry) Rummery of Manotick and Nancy (David) Chambers of Sackville, NB and a devoted "General Nana" to Tara (Marc) Jacquet of Portland, ME and Marcus Rummery of Vancouver, to Anne (Rick) Stokes and Robert Chambers and his fiancee Claire, all of Halifax. She adored her two great-grandchildren Liam and Chloe Jacquet. Her loving husband Keith''s death preceded hers in 1983. On graduating from Renfrew Collegiate, she became a private secretary to many lucky managers including the first one in Smooth Rock Falls. She worked for many years at the NRC and retired 36 years ago as Secretary to the President of an international company in Montreal. Eileen had exuberance for life. She had style and beauty, a touch of irreverence and endless generosity with her time, her stories, her knitting needles and her infectious laughter. Her Irish wit and humour never left her. Many thanks to the caring staff at Orchard View Living Centre, to Dr. Schnurr, to Dr. Puxty and Dee Charette. In deference to her generation, a reception will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on November 17 at her daughter''s home in Manotick. Burial at the Howard Cemetery, Foresters Falls, ON. Memorial donations would be welcomed at the Ross Museum, Foresters Falls, ON. K0J 1V0
