Rogers, Eileen M. TROY Eileen M. Rogers, 83, of Troy, died January 28, 2009 peacefully at home surrounded by her family. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Anna Costello and wife of the late Patrick G. "Jerry" Rogers. She attended Catholic High and had been employed by New York Telephone Co. and by the YWCA in her earlier years. She had been very active with ARC and was instrumental in the opening of Pinewoods Center. She was a communicant of Saint William's Church and prepared students for First Communion. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. Eileen is survived by six children, Sue Ann, Jim, Dan, Gerard and William C. Rogers, and Teri Rogers Sorino; 12 grandchildren, Joe, Chris, Cait, Sarah, Brian, David, Megan, Kristen, Dan, Justin, Mikaela and Scott; two sisters, Florence Simmons and Sandra Roddy; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son, Joe and by her siblings, Dan Costello and Ann Pate. The funeral will be on Monday at 9:45 a.m. from the Daniel D. Purcell Funeral Home, 510 Pawling Ave. at Parkview Court, Troy and at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Troy where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in Saint Patrick's Cemetery, Watervliet. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home Sunday from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m.
