EVANS, EFFIE PRUITT, 104, of Louisville, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2005, at Meadows East. She was born February 11, 1900. She was a retired seamstress, co-owner of the old Evans and White Alteration Shop and a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daymon, when he was 25 years of age, and also by her daughters, Eva Jewel Evans and Vanna Lee Woosley. Effie is survived by her son and daughter- in-law, Wilmoth "Tommy" and LaVerne Evans; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a niece, Mary P. Embry; and many other loving nieces, nephews and friends. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Nunnelley Funeral Home, 4327 Taylor Blvd., with burial in Layman Memorial Cemetery in Caneyville, KY. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday. Memorial donations may be made to her church or to the donor's favorite charity.
