SMITH, EDWIN Edwin "Earl" Smith, 75, of Ocala went to be with our Lord on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at his home with his loving wife and family by his side. Earl was born in Washington, D.C. and moved from Maryland to Ocala in November of 2000. Earl was a retired Causality Claims Insurance Adjuster. He was a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church, and was part of the bereavement society at the church. Earl enjoyed being a HAM radio operator and talking with people around the world, tinkering on cars, and loved to watch and hear airplanes. He is preceded in death by his son- Earl "Glenn" Smith; sister- Margaret (Ernie) Kay, brother-in-law- Neil McBrearty. Survivors include his devoted wife of 53 years Veronica "Ronnie" Smith, daughter- Linda M. Turner, husband- John E. Turner, grandsons- James E. Turner and Jarrett E. Turner, brother- Virgil (Virginia) Smith, brothers-in-law- Kenneth (Theresa) McBrearty, William (Michele) McBrearty, Sean (Marie) McBrearty, sisters-in-law- Mary Anne Ferazzi, Dorothy Ebert, Elizabeth (Pete) Chamberlin, Dottie (Neil) McBrearty and with many nieces, nephews and friends. There will be a memorial Mass celebrating Earl's life at Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church, 4047 NE 21st Street, Ocala on Tuesday, Dec 28th at 11:00 AM with Fr. Andrew Mallick officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Wed, Dec 29th at 3:00 PM at the Ocala Palms club house celebrating Earl's life. All are welcome to attend.
