Edwin G. Smith, 86, Englewood, died Jan. 15, 2006. He was born Dec. 28, 1919, in York, Pa., and came to Englewood in 1952 from St. Louis. He was a machinist and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 10178, Englewood. Survivors include his wife, Teresa; sons Raymond and Philip; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Englewood. Lemon Bay Funeral Homes, Englewood Chapel, is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Raphael's Catholic Church Building Fund, 770 Kilbourne Ave., Englewood, FL 34223.
