Peters, 89, of Colchester, formerly of Uncasville, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.Mr. Peters was born on Sept. 1, 1921, in Constantinople, Turkey, the son of William and Antoinette (Dalliggia) Peters. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army Air Corps 425th Bomb Squadron.He married Eleanor Ward on June 23, 1951, in New London."Pete" was employed for 30 years as a mechanic at Pfizer in Groton until his retirement in 1983.In addition to his wife, Eleanor, he is survived by his daughter, Gail E. Cortina and her husband, James, of Waterford; his son, Jeffery E. Peters and his wife, Pamela, of Virginia; and his four grandchildren, Brandon, Troy, Justin, Nicole; and his great-grandson, Jayden.He was predeceased by his brother, Frank.A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London.Please visit www.fultontherouxnewlondon.com for photos, tributes, and more information.
