Edward (Ted) Louis LeeNovember 26, 1934 - August 23, 2012Our family is saddened to announce the sudden death of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather. Ted passed away in the early hours of August 23rd at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon with his wife and daughters at his side.Ted is survived by his wife, Carole, of 53 years; daughters Patty Dixon (David and their daughter Amy); Leslie Read (Ian and their children Ronald and Carina); Sandra Read (her children Bryan, Brittany, and Scott); Trina Lee-Jones (Dean and his son Riley); grandson William; sister Keitha McLean. He is predeceased by his brothers Richard and Tom; sisters Audrey and Gerry; daughter Leila; and grandson Tim.Ted was born and raised in Saskatoon. He married Carole in 1959. He was employed with the CN Rail for 38 years, and following his retirement, he worked as a Justice of the Peace until age 65. He actively worked as a Notary Public and a Marriage Commissioner until the time of his death.Ted was an active member of the Saskatchewan Lodge #16, A.F. & A.M. (50 years), Past District Deputy Grand Master (1986-1987); The Ancient & Accepted Scottish Rite, Honorary Inspector General, 33rd Degree; The Royal Order of Scotland and the Wa Wa Shrine. He was also an active member of the CN Pensioners.Ted enjoyed camping trips with his family in the earlier years. Later on he enjoyed many summers at his cottage at Manitou Beach playing golf and going on walks in the country with his family. He was an avid reader and loved life in general. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the gentleman and the nurse in Martensville who responded immediately with emergency treatment and care for Ted until both the Martensville and Saskatoon EMTs arrived. We also greatly appreciate the quick and diligent response from the EMTs. As well, we would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the RUH CCU for their excellent care and compassion.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital Travel Fund or the Scottish Rite Foundation. Funeral Services will take place on Tuesday August 28th 2012 at 1:30 pm at the Masonic Temple in Saskatoon (1021 Sask. Cr. West) followed by a reception on the lower level prior to interment at Woodlawn Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to mail@saskatoonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been entrusted to Saskatoon Funeral Home. 244-5577.
