Edward Louis Peters, 72, of Florence, Ala., went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, March 18, 2010, after an extended illness. He attended First Assembly of God on Helton Drive in Florence and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army.Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010, at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Greenview Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Buddy Ellington officiating. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery.Survivors include his wife, Bertha Christine Peters, of Florence, Ala.; son, Reggie Peters, of Florence; daughter, Sheree Hodge, of Florence, and Elisa Morgan, of Decatur, Ala.; sisters, Johanna Springer, of Florence, Ann Bowling, of Florence, Angel Cornelius, of Branson, Mo., and Mary Everett, of Knoxville, Tenn.; brother, Bill Peters, of Florence; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his son, Kenny Peters; parents, Joseph and Luzina Peters; three sisters and four brothers.Pallbearers will be Pete Lopez, Ronnie Mann, Rickey Mann, Will Mann, Sam Springer and William Bogus.
