OCALA, Fla. - Edward Casey, 82, formerly of Meriden, died on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011 after injuries sustained in an automobile accident.Born in Meriden on Nov. 9, 1928, he was the son of the late Martin and Anna (Kolette) Casey and had graduated from local schools: St. Rose of Lima School, Jefferson Junior High School and Meriden High School. He was also a graduate of the University of Connecticut and was employed by the State of Connecticut until his retirement, prior to his moving to Ocala, Fla. He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of Local Chapter 2 Knights of Columbus and served a term as State Deputy during the 1980's.He is survived by an adopted son, Glen Casey, of Meriden; a sister, Mary D. Rogalski, of Meriden; a brother, Clarence Casey and his wife, Laurie, of Middletown; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Loraine Ashman in 2010.All services are private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J.
