Edward Samuel Casey, of Frederick, Md., died Feb, 20, 2009, at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, Md. He was 82. Edward S. Casey was born Sept. 28, 1926, in Baltimore, the son of the late Samuel George Casey and Rose (Hartman). As a young man, he worked on various farms in Queen Anne's County. In 1959, he went to work for Burton's Nursery, in Hyattsville, Md., until he started to work for the National Park Service in 1961. After 33 years in the park service, he retired in 1994. That same year, he went to live with his son and family in Connecticut until 1999 when he moved to Frederick, Md. He enjoyed country music, baseball, especially the Orioles, and football games, especially the Dallas Cowboys. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, John Duker Casey and Charles Casey. He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Curlett Casey, of Frederick, Md., one daughter, Darla Faith Lunnen and husband Ray James III, of Frederick, Md., one son, Daren Brent Casey and his fiancee Andrea Baylock, of Plainville, three grandchildren, Shane James Lunnen and his fiancee Jo Anna Stiles, of Indiana, Penn., Paige Meara, Shane Justin Casey Stone, both of Connecticut; sister-in-law, Mildred Casey, of Millington, Md., sister-in-law, Mary Ann Casey, of Barclay, Md.; one brother-in-law, Norman and wife, Lynn Dixon Sr., of Goldsboro, Md.; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews and friends. Services will be private. Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, of Millington, Md., assisted the family with arrangements.
