Edna Collins Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Logan United Methodist Church. Edna Collins, 89, of Logan, died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005, at Trigg Memorial Hospital in Tucumcari. She was born on Oct. 2, 1915, on the family homestead east of Nara Visa. She was active in the community. She was a member of the Logan United Methodist Church, Women's Christian Temperance Union. She was a substitute teacher in the Logan School System for many years and was still teaching piano to the children and adults in Logan. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Alford Collins; two sons, Charles Alford Collins and Eldred Elmo Collins; a brother, Elmer Mullin; and a sister, Eunice Foster. Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Ross (and husband, Tom) of Kathy, Texas; a sister, Violet McLendon of Dallas; 10 grandchildren, Crystie Dodson, Coy, Creighton, Michael, and Chad Collins, Kimberly Mikeska, Melody Holman, Jenifer Palomar, and Douglas and Gregory Ross; 15 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. The Rev. Sue Mortensen will officiate the services, assisted by Jim and Mike Ross. Pallbearers are her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors, including Melvin Keith, Jack McCarty, James Rinestine, Doug Bullock, Lynn Jarry, Ray Clark, Eugenio Lujan, and Merejildo Gutierrez. Burial will be at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari.
