Edmund S. Martin Edmund S. Martin WALTHAM Edmund S. Martin of Waltham, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at the Newton Wellesley Hospital after a sudden illness. He was 85. The son of the late Stanley D. and Edna B. (Scott) Martin, he was born in Boston and had been a Waltham resident most of his life, also living in Sudbury for 15 years. An electrical contractor, Mr. Martin worked with his late father at S.D. Martin and Son Electrical Contracting then continued to operate the business for over 20 years. Mr. Martin served as a merchant marine during World War II. He was a member of the Lexington Lodge of Elks, the Moose Lodge in Waltham, the Joseph Hill American Legion Post in Waltham and Hudson Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed stock car racing, snowmobiling, motorcycles, hunting and boating. He is survived by his daughters, Cathryne M. and her husband, Dan Donahue, of Westborough and Patricia A. Mercury of Plymouth, his sister, Jean Dalton of Florida, his granddaughters, Carolyn and her husband, Michael Lockward, and Jennifer Mercury and his great-granddaughter, Lauren Lockward. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews. Mr. Martin was predeceased by his brothers, Ronald "Buddy," Gordon and Thomas "Diddy" Martin. A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham.
