CRAWFORD, Edith Edith died peacefully at Carleton Lodge on March 15, 2009 at the age of 94 after a stubborn struggle with Alzheimer Disease. Loving mother to Bob Crawford (Susan) and Judy McCoy (Terry). Dear grandmother to Melissa Chandler (Matt), Dan Crawford (Heather Hall), Melanie McCoy, Sean McCoy, Jason McCoy (Lisa), Kristen McCoy, Laura McCoy (Murray Cooke) and Brendan McCoy (Nalini D'Souza). Proud great-grandmother to a beautiful bunch of great-grandkids. Predeceased by her parents, Katie and Dan Williams, her husband Merritt Crawford, her siblings: Charlie Williams (Effie), Catherine Horton (Walter), Margaret Williams, Mary Dunham (late Ralph), and her sister-in-law Vivian Rosedale (late Lem) and brother-in-law Carman Crawford (Ruth). She is survived by her nieces and nephews. Edith's cremated remains will be interred beside Merritt at Heatherdale Cemetery near New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, a final return to the Maritimes. Edith's family offers its deepest gratitude to the skilled and compassionate staff of Carleton Lodge. In memoriam donations to Carleton Lodge (55 Lodge Road, Ottawa, ON, K2C 3H1) would be greatly appreciated. We will celebrate Edith's life by remembering her as a proud and classy lady, a loyal wife, an always supportive mother, and a steadfast friend.
