EDITH SEIVER TAYLOR SMITH, 89Administrative Assistant PLANT CITY - Mrs. Edith Seiver Taylor Smith, 89, of Plant City passed away peacefully on Friday, April 3, 2009, in Utah, after a short illness with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family. Edith was a lifelong native of Plant City where she was dedicated to her church and family. Edith enriched her life with a passion for learning, was spiritually focused and was always a lady. Born to Virgil and Ola Seiver on February 24, 1920 in Plant City, Florida, she had one brother, Rev. Marion Seiver, who predeceased her on June 6, 2008, and is survived by his wife Mary Lena Seiver. Edith graduated from Plant City High School in 1938 and continued her education graduating from Florida State College for Women with a degree in English. Edith was retired from McMullen and Associates, of Lakeland. Preceding Edith in death is her first husband Mr. Robert Taylor. They had two sons, Rob Taylor of Boise, Idaho, and Rick Taylor and his wife Connie of Bluffdale, Utah. Edith was blessed with many loving nieces and nephews. Also preceding Edith in death is her second husband, William Victor Smith. Edith's extended family includes Vicky Smith Naugle and her husband Charles of Zephyrhills, The Hon. Wm. Bruce Smith and his wife Gail of Lakeland, and Devony Smith Burgess and her husband Dr. George Burgess of Bradenton, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at The First Baptist Church of Plant City on April 25 at 10:00 a.m. The family will have a private interment. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to The First Baptist Church of Plant City Building Fund in Edith Smith's name.
