Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Boaz Carr Chapel for Mrs. Edith Rebecca Smith, Boaz, who passed away Friday, Jan. 22, 2010. The Rev. Bill Harbison, the Rev. Mark Alan Smith and the Rev. Gary Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Friendship Cemetery. Boaz Carr Funeral Home directing.She was born Feb. 18, 1924, to James Bert Terrell and Dessie Mae Scott. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Eastern Star No. 532; a member of the East Gadsden Baptist Church and the Lena Grisby Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vaslie Harden Smith.She is survived by sons, Phillip T. (Rita) Smith, James E. (Shirley) Smith and Tommy J. (Mary) Smith; daughter, Rebecca S. (Kip) Williams; brothers, Carl J. (Norma) Terrell, Joe R. Terrell and Thomas W. Terrell; sister, Ruth T. Bailey; sister-in-law, Reba S. (Garnet) Rigsby; brother-in-law, Dannie B. (Rita) Smith; grandchildren, Phillip T. (Melanie) Smith Jr., Bryan M. Smith, Timothy S. (Meg) Smith, Jamie S. (Dawn) Smith, Jennifer S. (Andy) Jones, Mark A. (Wendy) Smith, Kara S. (Jason) Arthur and Kip Denton Williams II; great-grandchildren, Phillip T. Smith III, Laura Kathryn Smith, Kaitlyn E. Smith, Taylor Grace Jones, Andrew Smith Jones and Laney Tate Smith.Pallbearers will be Phillip T. Smith Jr., Bryan Mitchell Smith, Timothy Sean Smith, Jamie Scott Smith, Mark Alan Smith and Kip Denton Williams II. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of the Boaz Golden Living Center and Hospice of Marshall County.In lieu of flowers the family asks donations be made to the East Gadsden Baptist Church.The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 8 this evening at the Boaz Carr Chapel.
