Edith M. Todd June 10, 2010 Edith M. Todd, 77, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully on June 10 at Iroquois Nursing Home. Mrs. Todd was active in her church and community and owned and operated the first African American Bakery and Catering Service in Syracuse. Mrs. Todd started a family Christian newsletter for the community, God's Messenger, which lasted 15 years. She worked for 12 years as a foster grandparent in various schools. Mrs. Todd was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Todd, and their three children, who died at birth. She is survived by her godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends. Calling hour will take place Monday, June 14, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the parlor of DeWitt Community Church, 3600 Erie Blvd. E., DeWitt, NY 13214. The memorial service will follow in the sanctuary at 11 a.m. Interment will be in White Chapel Gardens. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Todd Mobile Fund at DeWitt Community Church. Fairchild & Meech DeWitt Chapel in charge of arrangements.
