Edith M. Carter - Savannah -Edith M. Carter, 84, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2006 at her residence under the care of Odyssey Health Care Hospice and surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Montgomery, AL, but lived in Savannah most of her life. In her younger days she was an avid bowler, loved ceramics and making dolls. She was preceded in death by her husband Julian "Peck" Carter; and was loved and cherished by anyone who knew her. She is survived by three daughters, Catherine Carter, Judy Harley and Elizabeth Carter; sons, William Lloyd Carter and Christopher Harley; grandchildren, Clint and Jessica West, Mandy Berry, Dusty Harley, Carol Newsome, Kasey Carter, J.R. Carter, Steve Usry, Scott Usry and 11 great grandchildren. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Fairhaven Funeral Home. Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, in the Chapel of the Fairhaven Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Sullivan and Rev. Lawton Smith officiating. Burial: Elkins Cemetery.
