KNIGHT Edith Joyce January 5, 1930 - March 1, 2008 Joyce passed away peacefully Saturday morning, March 1 at Burnaby General Hospital at the age of 78. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband Maurice. She was the dear mother of Roland, Julian and Andrew and beloved Nana to Jessica, Cody, Dylan, Ashley, Cassandra and Nicole. She was loved by her three daughters-in-law, Jordan, Dorrie and Linda, and will be missed by her sister Anne. Joyce was born in Perth, Scotland and spent a varied and rich life, spending her childhood in Egypt, her early married years in Australia before raising her family in Burnaby. Joyce was a registered nurse for many years at Burnaby General Hospital. During her retirement, she was an avid volunteer for many worthwhile community organizations, selflessly devoting her time to help others. In the same spirit, Joyce took a great interest in the lives, activities and successes of her grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 7th, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Bell and Burnaby Funeral Chapel on 4276 Hastings St., Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Plan (Foster Parents Plan).
