<!-- FH = The Howze Mortuary --><!-- DisplayFullObituaryText -->Edith Collins WilliamsTravelers Rest, SCEdith Williams, 101, of Travelers Rest, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014.Edith was born in Middleburg, NC on a tobacco farm. She was the daughter of the late Marie Sturgis and George Washington Collins. She was preceded in death by her husband Curtis F. Williams, three sisters and five brothers.Edith worked for 22 years as a school lunch room manager at Travelers Rest School. During these years she served a term as president of the Greenville County Lunchroom Association. She was a former member of the Travelers Rest Garden Club. Edith joined Trinity Presbyterian Church in 1950 and was the oldest member of the church. Before her health declined, she was active in church activities. She is survived by a daughter Marie (Bunny) Batson; a grandson, Dave Batson of Travelers Rest; a granddaughter, Beth Kendrick of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Lindsey Kendrick of Charlotte and Cash and Georgia Batson of Travelers Rest.Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 3 o'clock at Trinity Presbyterian Church with burial to follow at Mountain View Memorial Park, formerly Grand View Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 Sunday afternoon at the church prior to the service.Memorials may be made to Thornwell Home for Children, P.O.
