HAMPDEN and BANGOR - Evelyn Louise (Jacobsen) Clark, 83, passed away peacefully July 10, 2012, surrounded by her loving family at a Bangor health care facility. Evelyn was born Oct. 7, 1928, in Bangor, to Louis and Doris (Cunningham) Jacobsen. Evelyn graduated from Hampden Academy, class of 1946. Shortly after graduation she married the love of her life, Harvard Clark of Castine. Home describes Evelyn best. She loved to take care of her family, particularly her husband whom she took care of during his 28 years of illness. In her spare time, Evelyn enjoyed word games of all kinds especially jumble books, and was very proud of the fact that she could recite the alphabet backwards, but most of all loved time spent with her family. Evelyn will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. Evelyn is survived by her children, David A. Clark and wife, Margaret, of Bangor, Daniel A. Clark and partner, Erin Casey-Dery, of Hampden and her children, Max and Noah, Carolyn L. Corey and husband, Steven, of Brewer, Christine C. Bates and husband, Scott, of Orrington and Sandra J. Dubovy and husband, David, of Bangor; grandchildren, Rebecca, Emily, Molly, Benjamin, Jacob, Tonya, Raeanne, Howard and Eric; two great-granddaughters, Felicity and Iva; a great-grandson, Ethan; as well as several nieces and nephews. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Harvard L. Clark; an infant daughter, Catherine; a grandson, Nathan Clark; and eight siblings. Evelyn's family thanks the staff at Ross Manor's Engel Place for their wonderful and compassionate care during her stay. Family and friends may visit 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 12, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 13, at Lakeview Cemetery, Western Avenue, Hampden.
