CONCORD ; Evelyn A. Owens, 90, went to join our Lord on Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Presidential Oaks Nursing Home in Concord. Evelyn was born in Laconia, the daughter of Oley and Gladys (Mansfield) Arnold. She was predeceased by her husband, Ralph Owens of Merrimac, Mass.; her sister, Elaine Grant; and her brother, Herbert Arnold of Laconia. Evelyn worked for 30 years for Western Electric in Andover, Mass., several of those years producing products used in the country's space program. She was a life member of the Telephone Pioneers organization. She retired at age 70, leaving many friends and memories to return to her beloved New Hampshire. Evelyn was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Concord. She is survived by her son, Dwight Dow Jr. and his wife Carlene of Concord; her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Armand Maheux of Laconia; her nephew, Michael Grant of Laconia; eight grandsons, Scott Dow and his wife Valerie, Steve Dow and his wife Paula, Chris Dow and his wife Georgia, Tim Dow and his wife Christina, Jim Dow and his wife Jodi, Steve Dahood and his wife Heidi, Jim Hoyt and his wife Jen, John Dahood and his friend Lisha Gillett; two granddaughters, Sandy Muller and her husband Mike, and Linda Bosa and her husband Bob; 28 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. Memorial calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to Non on Thursday, April 23, 2009, at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main St., Concord. A celebration of life will be held at Non at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Concord.
