WALKER, EVA A., age 76, of of Minneola, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 21, 2005 after a brief illness. She was born in Winter Garden on October 7, 1928 to Harry and Mamie (Lyons) Austin. In addition to her life as wife and mother, Eva served for some years as a member of the West Orange Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Finding a love and calling to help others, she returned to school, attended Valencia Community College, received an Associate's Degree and became a Registered Nurse. Even though she retired from nursing almost 20 years ago, Eva continued demonstrating her compassion for those around her by providing help and care as she became aware of various individual needs. Eva was a member and held office in the Clermont Garden Club and was a member, past Treasurer, and served on various committees in Grace Community Church in Clermont. She is survived by the family she encompassed with her love: her husband of 57 years, George Robert "Bob" Walker; daughters, Amy Bekemeyer (Jon), Clermont, Lynn Walker Wright, Metro West, Cindy Potter, Winter Garden, Elizabeth Kennedy (Mike) Orlando; her brother, Douglas W. Austin, Winter Garden and sister, Alma A. Huffman, Bellaire, TX; grandchildren, Heather Graham (Paul), Ashley Turner, Jonathan Bekemeyer (Becky) and Andrew Bekemeyer; great grandchildren Dylan Holseth and Brock Bekemeyer. The funeral service will be held at 2PM, Monday, April 25, 2005 at Grace Community Church, 14244 John's Lake Road, Clermont, FL 407-877-4048. Rev. Jon Bekemeyer will officiate. Interment will follow in Winter Garden Cemetery.
