DAVIS, ERLENE WALKER Erlene Walker Davis, 79, of Calera died at home surrounded by her family Thursday evening, February 9, 2012. She was born December 18, 1932 in Auburn. Erlene was a member of the Oak Mountain Church of Christ in Pelham and a member of the Birmingham Day Lily Society. Survivors include her husband, Ray P. Davis; their children, Steve Davis of Decatur, Emily Sledge (Frank) of Calera, Walker Davis (Denise) of Auburn, and Philip Davis (Gena) of Huntsville; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Dean Kelley; and two brothers, Denver Walker and Edwin Walker. The visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Ridout's Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2012 in Ridout's Southern Heritage Chapel, Pelham, with Bob Hutto and Dennis Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Southern Heritage Cemetery, Pelham. The family expresses special thanks to Dot Gunter of Amedisys Hospice Services for the compassionate care Erlene received. >>
