ERICA JEAN SMITH - BURLINGTON - Erica Jean Smith, 20, of Burlington passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 12, 2011. Erica was born in Burlington on July 3, 1990, the daughter of Wendell J. and Stacey (Viele) Smith. She graduated from Burlington High School in 2008. Erica enjoyed every aspect of life; spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, four- wheeling, hiking, the beach, and walking with her dog, Payton. She was a huge photo collector. She is survived by her parents, Wendell and Stacy; her sisters, Krystal Smith and Samantha Smith; her brother, Dillon Smith; her grandmothers, Katrina "Grammie" Smith, and Marlene "Nan" Viele; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Roland "Papa" Smith. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, May 15, 2011, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St. in Winooski. Graveside funeral services will be held on Monday, May 16, 2011, at 11 a.m. in Fairview Cemetery on Old Colchester Road in Essex Junction. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Erica's memory can be sent to Katrina Smith, 104 Cherokee Avenue, Essex Junction, VT 05452 to help with family matters.
