Ellen "Joyce" Devlin, a long time resident of Goshen died on Saturday, May 5, 2001 at Arden Hill Hospital, she was 79 years of age. The daughter of Richard and Florence Gibson, she was born on September 22, 1921 in Mt. Vernon, NY. She was the widow of Edward F. Devlin, Sr., who predeceased her on July 5, 1980. She was a member of the Chester Golden Age Club and St. Columba R.C. Church. She was the loving mother of 14 children, Richard Devlin and his wife Carla of San Mateo, CA; Robert Devlin and his wife Rosemary of Chester, NY; Mary Penwright and her husband Wayne of Lockport, NY; Thomas Devlin and his wife Chris of Falls Church, VA; Andrew Devlin and his wife Mary Ellen of West Haverstraw, NY; Ellen Devlin of Pearl River, NY; Kathleen Juranic and her husband Frank of Edgewater, FL; Margery Carle and her husband Peter of Pearl River, NY;John Devlin and his wife Ann Marie of Goshen; Joseph Devlin of Grunnison, CO; Edward F. Devlin, Jr. and his wife Laura of Hudson, NY; Theresa Dolch of Monroe, NY. 26 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren also survive Ellen. She was predeceased by two children, Mark and Patrick. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 7, 2001 at the Flynn-Gannon Funeral Homes during the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Tueday, May 8, 2001 at 10:00 am at St. Columba R.C. Church, 27 High St., Chester, NY. Interment will be in St. Columba R.C. Cemetery, Chester, NY.
