WOLFEBORO — Elizabeth J. Crowe, 78, of Harvey Brook Road in Wolfeboro, N.H., died peacefully at home on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009. She was born June 13, 1931, in Englewood, N.J., daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth (Weeks) Eastman. She resided in Wolfeboro for the past seven years, having previously resided on Red Gate Road in Wakefield.Betty was a partner with her husband, Bob, in the ownership and operation of PJ Bowling Lanes in Wolfeboro. She served as church secretary at the Wakefield Congregational Church for 15 years, where she was an active member and also of the Parish Helpers. She was a member of the D.A.R. (Daughters of the American Revolution.) For 20 years, she participated in the annual C.R.O.P. walk, an effort to raise money for hunger. She enjoyed nature and hiking with the Active Older Adults of Wolfeboro, as well as with many special friends and on spiritual retreats at Horton Center on Pine Mountain, N.H. Betty loved gardening, rock collecting, photography, traveling and swimming. She especially loved her family, church family, and pets.Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Robert A. Crowe of Wolfeboro and their two children, Cynthia and husband, Richard Denver of Brookfield, and William and wife, Joyce Crowe of Lakeland, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jason and Sara Denver, William and Jeremy Crowe; stepgranddaughter, Melissa Bortscheller; two great-grandchildren: Christopher Denver and Brian Denver-Drouin. She was predeceased by her aunt, Eleanor Eastman of Union.There are no calling hours, family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of her life on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 10 a.m. at the Wakefield Congregational Church with the Rev.
