CHANDLER, EDITH ELOISE SWINDLE Edith Eloise Swindle Chandler of Birmingham passed away September 11, 2011. She was born October 20, 1927 in Vina, Alabama to William Columbus and Martha Josephine (Powell) Swindle. She graduated from Hamilton High School and was a member of Vestavia Hills Baptist Church. She married Pervey Ray Chandler on February 8, 1948 at Norwood Baptist Church in Birmingham. She retired from Mountain Brook Schools Child Nutrition Program and also served as Preschool Director for nine years at Glorieta Baptist Conference Center. Eloise was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Chandler and Debra Speake, both of Birmingham, AL; two sons, Donald Chandler of Columbus, MS and Charles Chandler (Virginia) of Rapid City, SD; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Friday, September 16, 2011 at 12:00 noon at Vestavia Hills Baptist Church followed by a service at 1:00 pm. >
