Earl Clarke The family of Earl Clarke is deeply saddened to announce his passing on April 2, 2012 at the age of 94 years. Earl is survived by his sons Gerald (Pat), Maynard (Elaine), Chris (Val), and daughters Maureen (late Ivan) Kresak and Patsy King. Earl had ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren who were the sunshine of his life. Earl was born February 12, 1918 to Tommy and Bessie Clarke. Earl lost his mother at the tender age of 18 months and was then raised by his maternal grandparents Jay and Katherine Grimes. Dad enjoyed life on the farm. He attended Evans School. The RM of Snipe Lake was Dad's first place of employment. Earl met and fell in love with Berniece Hart; they were married May 5, 1943 in Saskatoon. While in the city he worked for Richardson Road Machinery. They decided to return to Eston and once again Earl worked for the RM and on rented farm land. Their love grew and filled their lives with five children. To support the family Dad also worked for the Department of Highways. Dad's love for his wife and family knew no bounds, he worked ceaselessly to provide. The family grew, as did the farm. He was active with the Lions Club, The Eston-Elrose School Board, Prairie West Historical Society, the Riverside Pool Board and the Knights of Columbus. Barbecued beef was one of the great meals he cooked and on July first he shared it with all of Eston. His creativity and artistic flair filled our homes with clocks, tables and farm toys. He loved to tell stories, and remind us of our heritage. After many years of hard work, Earl and Berniece enjoyed winters in Mesa, Arizona. Dad loved the desert sun and the company of new and old friends. In April of 1996 with the passing of Berniece; Earl continued his journey alone: a void in his heart but his spirit carried him forward. He moved into Heritage Manor, when his health started to fail and enjoyed the companionship of fellow residents. As his needs changed still more he moved into Jubilee Lodge in Dec. 2010.The family would like to thank Dr. Holmes and the staff at the Lodge for the wonderful compassionate care he received. Dad we will miss you so much! A Funeral Service was held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Eston, SK, with Rev. Fr. Jude Nzekwe as celebrant.
