E. Marie Ames, age 99, of Yonkers, died February 23, 2001. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard F. Ames and the loving mother of Joan Newman and Jean DeNunzio. Marie is also survived by her sister, Helen Marie Menger, 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was a graduate of Yonkers High School class of 1920. Marie attended business school in New York City before working for Chas. Scribner & Sons Publishing Co. in the office of Maxwell Perkins. She was a former member of First Presbyterian Church of Yonkers. Visitation will be at the Flynn Memorial Home today, Sunday from 2 to 4 pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. John's Riverside Hospital, 987 N. Broadway, Yonkers, NY 10701 will be appreciated.
