STRICKLAND, E. Hazel 96, of Tampa, passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, in Palm Beach. A native of Tampa, she was a charter member of Palma Ceia United Methodist Church, and former president of the Bayshore Garden Club. As a former classification analyst with the government she traveled all around the world. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nona Adams Strickland; her brother, Julius M. Strickland and her sister Nona S. Whitaker. She is survived by her nephew J. Douglas and wife, Trisha Whitaker, and Charles H. and wife, Juanita S. Whitaker; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends 7-8 pm Friday, Oct. 14, at Blount & Curry Funeral Home, 605 S. MacDill Ave. Funeral services will take place at 3 pm Saturday, Oct. 15, at Palma Ceia United Methodist Church, 3723 Bay to Bay Blvd., Tampa, FL 33629.
