Dorothy "Dot" Vance Williams, 89, of Crystal River, FL, passed away Friday, January 14, 2011, at Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center in Crystal River, FL. Born September 27, 1921, in Memphis, TN, to A.C. and Edith (Carmony) Vance, she came here more than 80 years ago living most of her life in Citrus County. She was a secretary for the Citrus County School System retiring after 25 years of service with the Crystal River High School. She was a member of the Crystal River Anthology Guild and was a volunteer for the Key Training Center Thrift Store in Crystal River for many years. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Homosassa, FL, and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years A.D. Williams Jr., February 23, 1988. Survivors include her 3 sons, Chuck Williams of Crystal River, FL, Darryll Williams (Ilene) of Ann Arbor, MI, and A.D. Williams III (Ann) of Homosassa, FL; and 2 grandchildren, Keith and Kate Williams. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 17, 2011, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. from the Strickland Funeral Home Chapel in Crystal River, FL. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 18, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Gulf to Lake Church in Crystal River, FL, with the Rev. Lloyd Bertine officiating.
