July 17, 1920 - August 4, 2013It is with sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mom and grandmother, following a brief illness. Born in London England, the beautiful and vibrant Dorothy entered adulthood during WWII, volunteering extensively during the London Blitz. She met her future husband Ron Williams, a young RAF flight engineer at a Red Cross dance, and following the war emigrated to Canada to begin a new life.Dorothy was a dedicated mother and inspired homemaker who filled family life with an abundance of beauty, laughter, creativity and appreciation for both animals and nature. Gardening was her bliss, and the results spectacular! She had great resilience through difficult times, always managing to laugh and find the bright side in any situation. Most certainly, her greatest legacy was a lifetime of unconditional love for her family - a gift of immeasurable value.Predeceased by husband Ron (2005), Dorothy is survived by her beloved sister Iris; her children and grandchildren Brian and Daphne Williams (Leith and Eric); Jackie and Kenn Petruk (Eamonn and Emily).A family celebration of Dorothy's life was held August 16, near the seashore at Tofino, Vancouver Island - a place of special significance for us all.
