DELAND, FL - Dorothy Whitten Roy, 86, died here on June 19. Born in Springfield, MA, she attended Commerce High School and lived in Hampden before moving to Florida in 1972. Dorothy worked for many years for the Hampden School System. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Peter A. Roy, who died in 2000. She was the loving mother of Nancy Stronczek of Greenfield, Donna Roy of Agawam, and Beverly St. Pierre of Va; two grandchildren, Frank E. Stronczek, Jr. of Greenfield, and Carolynne Smith, of CA. She loved square dancing, sewing and especially quilting. The funeral was in Florida and Four Towns Cremation was in charge. Published in The Republican on 7/1/2005
