QUEENSBURY Dorothy R. White passed away February 18, 2005 at the Stanton Nursing & Rehab Centre in Queensbury. Born February 21, 1914 in Sandusky, Ohio, she was the daughter of August and Frieda (Helriegel) Rhode. She resided in Sandusky until moving to upstate New York in 1973. Dorothy was a former member of the Grace Chapter of Eastern Stars, the Daughters of the Nile and the Stone Presbyterian Church of Clinton, N.Y. She had a great love of gardening. Her husband, Franklin F. White, who died in 1979; her brother, Robert Rhode, and sisters, Anne Schubel and Marguerite Blank, predeceased Dorothy. She is survived by one brother, Otto J. Rhode of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one son, David R. White (Mary Carol); three daughters, Susanne M. Dwelle (Ray), Dianne E. Mathis (James) and Elizabeth J. Hittman (Mark); nine grandchildren also survive her, Cheryl Aley (Ray), Candice White (Jeff LaBombard), Brian White, Beth Burton (David), Kristin Hurst (Vernon), Natalie Criscione (John), Bradford Mathis, Daniel Hittman, Jonathan Hittman; and 13 great-grandchildren. Burial will be at Meadow Green Memorial Park in Huron, Ohio following a private graveside memorial service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnett Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio 45229. Local arrangements are under the direction of Regan & Denny Funeral Home, Queensbury, N.Y.
