SMITH, Dorothy Mae, 91, died peacefully at home December 18, 2009, under the care of HPH Hospice. She is survived by her husband of 68 years,William L. Smith; one daughter, Maxine (Don) Heglund; two sons, William (Marty) Smith, and Ronald(Cheryl) Smith; four grand-children, Ronald, James Tammie and Katherine; and five great-grandchildren. Dorothy was a sergeant in the U.S. Army. She took care of five aunts in her lifetime and was a faithful wife and mother. Dorothy Mae will be greatly missed by her family and friends.Funeral services will take place at 3 p.m. Wednesday December 23, at Whitfield Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2 - 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
