ObituaryMrs. Dorothy Mae Knight, age 85, of Hillsdale, MI passed away Monday, March 14, 2005 at Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek. She was born Nov. 10, 1919 in Monroe County, New York, the daughter of Raymond and Ruby (Phillips) Hale. Mrs. Knight retired from Singer Corp., at age 62 and Ft. Myers New Press at age 83. She was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star in Fairport, NY and the Officers Club and she had served as a Girl Scout Leader.She is survived by children, Sandra L. Nubel, Hillsdale, David M. Knight, Marion, NY, a daughter-in-law, Sandra L. "Sophie" Knight, Manchester, NY, grandchildren, Robert C. Knight, Timothy W. (Cindy) Knight, Matthew (Christina) Nubel, Gregory Nubel, Anthony (Renee) Nubel, several great-grandchildren, a brother, Robert (Pat) Hale, Salisbury, NC; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, George "Butch"Knight, Jr., and brothers, Bill (Ruth) Hale and Raymond "Boots" (Helen) Hale.Cremation has taken place. A memorial service was held at Bible Baptist Church, North Adams, MI. Memorial donations to the memory of Dorothy M. Knight are suggested to the Bible Baptist Church of North Adams. Arrangements are cared for by the Kurtz-Towns Funeral Homes, North Adams.
