NORTHPORT Dorothy Mae Carter, age 76, of 4505 Old Hickory Lane, Northport, died Jan. 2, 2006, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Weeping Mary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Cedar Oaks Memorial Park with Druid Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be today from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.Survivors include her children, Dorothy Lee Carter, Dr. Robert (Lola) Carter, Jr., Mary Ellen Carter, all of New Orleans, La. and Barbara (Samuel) Carter-Jumpiere of Stone Mountain, Ga.; six grandchildren, Robert Noland, Tanya Noland-Garrison, Tiffany Noland, Kiandra Carter, Robert Carter III, and Joel Carter; two great-grandchildren, Rhyan Lynch and Amani Maya Garrison; three brothers, Mannie (Val) Crosby, Jr. of St. Mary, Ga., Rufus (Elsa) Cosby, Sr. of Tuscaloosa and Samuel (Lydell) Cosby of Houston, Texas; one sister, Fannie (John, Sr.) Long; a host of nieces, nephews and relatives; and special friends, Clementine Carter, Rebecca Frierson and Rosemary Bass.
