Dorothy M. Murphy of Valley Cottage passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, September 20, 2004. She was 79. Dorothy was born September 19, 1925 in New York City. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years Thomas J. Murphy of Valley Cottage and her parents Marie and Frank McCaffrey. Dorothy worked as a home health aide for many years with Home Aides of Rockland. Dorothy is survived by her loving children. Mary Murphy of Valley Cottage, Noreen and her husband James Maine of East Schodack, NY, Gene and Nancy Murphy of Newburgh, NY, Thomas and Christopher Murphy of Valley Cottage. Her grandchildren Justin and Tara Maine, Shannon, Matthew, Christopher, Patrick, Tommy, Colleen, Daniel, Catie and Bryan Murphy. She is also survived by her brother Howard McCaffrey and his wife Nora of Washingtonville, NY and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 10 am at St. Paul's Church, Congers. Interment will follow at the F.W. Loescher Veterans Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY. Friends may call at The T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, Congers, Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
