->Dorothy M. Cooley COHOES - Dorothy M. Cooley, 94 formerly of Manor Ave., died Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Van Rensselaer Manor after a long illness. Dorothy was born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late George and Lucille Brouillette Reed. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Cooley (former editor of the Troy Record). As a lifelong resident of Cohoes Dorothy did volunteer work for several organizations in the city. She was an active member of the former St. Patrick’s Parish and was on the committee to help build the school. She later became a member of St. Agnes-St.Patrick’s Parish after they merged and then Holy Trinity Parish. Dorothy enjoyed raising her children and being with her grandchildren. Dorothy was the loving mother of Joseph A. Cooley, Jr., and his wife Mattie of Trenton NY, Mary L. Cooley of Cohoes, Terence J. Cooley and his wife Marcia of Burlington MA, Paul E. Cooley of Belmont MA, Robert L. Cooley and his wife Robin of Delmar, Michael T. Cooley of New York City and the late George C. Cooley. She is also survived by seventeen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy is predeceased by her siblings G. Thomas Reed and Lucille Van Alstine. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 9 am at Holy Trinity Parish, 122 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. Relatives and friends may call at the STANTON-FARRELL FUNERAL HOME, 326 Columbia St., Cohoes on Sunday from 4 to 6 pm. Her interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at Van Rensselaer Manor especially on B3 and A1 for the wonderful care given to their mother.
